Showell Volunteer Fire Department

This evening, Showell went to the Smith Farm to burn an old structure in the front of the farm. The structure was drilled on last week with smoke drills, allowing firefighters to search for a dummy in a smoke filled environment to train in the event of a real fire. Tonight, the building was burned down with the supervision of the fire department. Crews kept close-by structures and buildings cool while the structure burned, and once the fire was down to a safe level, units cleared and returned to the station.
