Showell Volunteer Fire Department

At 1049 hours Saturday morning, Ocean Pines and Showell Fire Departments were alerted for a Dryer Fire at 34 Pintail Drive. Rescue Engine 11, Engine 1102, Engine 803, Engine 804, and an Ocean Pines Paramedic unit responded to the call. Units arrived on scene and advised smoke showing upon arrival, and upon investigation found a dryer with flames showing. The fire was extinguished via a water extinguisher and an 1" 3/4 line. Ventilation was used throughout the structure to push any lingering smoke out of the building, and crews checked for any extensions of the fire. As the call deteriorated, units began to clear the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown. Just prior to the call being terminated, all Showell units were cleared from the scene.
