Showell Volunteer Fire Department

Not soon after responding to a Motor Vehicle Accident, Showell was alerted along with Ocean Pines to respond to a reported Residential Structure Fire with smoke in the residence. Upon arriving, Firefighter/Paramedic Booth took command and entered the structure to find a source of the smoke. The homeowner soon told firefighters she beleived the cause was her water heater, which was located in a bedroom closet. After confirming that as the source, firefighters turned the power off to the water heater and advised the homeowner to have the problem fixed. Command advised all units they could be placed in service with the exception of 1100 Paramedic- 1, Engine 803, and Engine 1102; who were on scene at the current time. Soon after comand was terminated and all units returned back to their stations. Once again we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
