Tuesday, June 22, 2010
At 1900 hours, units began leaving the station en route to a church in Whaleyville for a control burn. Members entered the structure and prepared the structure to be burned and also gaining valuble experience with the axe and other tools. Hoselines were placed around the perimeter to protect exposure and the church was lit. Nearby homes and places of interest were protected by fire personel until the church was burned to a safe point where the landowner could supervise the structure.
