Showell Volunteer Fire Department

At 1900 hours, units from Showell left the station in route to the Hammond Farm to control burn a chicken house. Upon arrival, firefighters 819 and 825 entered the structure and ignited the fire. Due the the dry weather our area has been experiencing, the small fire soon engulfed the entire chicken house. Firefighters 818, 802, and 834 protected a nearby structure with a 2 1/2 inch hoseline. The chicken house burned as planned and all members were able to clear the scene with the fire being left to the property owner.
