Firefighters are trained to handle specific situations, and know how to react in the toughest of situations. But at the end of the day, we are still average people, we arent invincible, and that is why firefighters train several times throughout the year. The drill at this event was to teach firefighters how to be part of a RIT (Rapid Intervention Team). When a firefighter becomes injured or trapped in a structure, a RIT team is deployed to safely recover the firefighter. In this drill firefighters were given a specific scenario and expected to complete the given task safely and efficiently.
