Showell Volunteer Fire Department

At approximately 1902 hours, Showell was alerted to respond to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 113 and Shingle Landing Road. 840 got on the radio shortly after, asking Worcester Central on the update of any injuries. Worcester Central came back shortly after advising that there was possible entrapment and that a car had rear ended a semi. Engine 803 and 800 Paramedic 2 arrived on scene first to begin assessing the situation. Upon arrival, no extrication was needed and the patient was removed from the vehicle and taken to the ambulance. He was taken to PRMC for care shortly after. Rescue 8 and Engine 804 arrived and were advised by Command (850) to stage down the road and to direct traffic into the left lane away from the accident. Crews cleared debris from the roadway and soaked up any fluids from the roadway using absorbent. Once the tow truck arrived and removed the vehicle from the roadway, command was terminated and all units returned to Station 800.
