Standby Crew at Frankford & Assisting Ocean City With Watermans Fire - Frankford VFD and Watermans Seafood Restaurant
Friday, October 5, 2012

With Dagsboro Fire Department mourning the loss of fellow firefighter Justin Townsend, Standby Crews from all over came to assist with call coverage. Engine 803 from Showell stood-by at Frankford Fire Department with trucks from Kent Island and Hurlock from 6pm to 12pm Friday Evening, It is truly amazing that departments from so far away are willing to travel several hours to help out a fire department in need, Brotherhood at its finest! RIP Justin Townsend At approximately 1900 hours Friday evening, While 803 was standing by at Frankford; Showell was alerted for a Engine and a Tanker to respond to the scene of Watermans Seafood for a structure fire. Engine 804 and Tanker 8 began to respond the the scene. Since water was needed much more than manpower, Tanker 8 was asked to continue to the scene and 804 was transferred to standby at Ocean City Headquarters to cover any calls in the City limits. After the fire was extinguished, units were able to return to the station around midnight with only a few hours to spare before coming back to work our Annual Gun Bash. The Showell Fire Department is so grateful for such great members we have, that dedicate so much time to us to ensure that everything is covered, From stand-by's to events, our members are there to lend a helping hand. Our department appreciates everything that our members do and would also like to extend thanks to Berlin Fire Department for sending a Standby Crew to cover our calls during our Gun Bash.
