Showell Volunteer Fire Department

At 0610 hours, Showell was alerted to respond to 13065 Riggin Ridge Rd to assist with a building fire. Not soon after, Ocean Pines was alerted to respond with one engine to respond to the scene, which was then transferred to Ocean City headquarters. Showell units responded to the scene and awaited proper assignments. Brush 8 arrived on scene and assigned to patrol the area for any loose embers throughout the neighborhood. Upon finding nothing, Brush 8 was then transferred to the scene to assist on-scene units. Tanker 8 arrived on scene and was asked to standby in case of any calls that may come on this side of the county. As Brush 8 arrived on the scene, some extinguishment in the garage and home were still being performed. Showell firefighters assisted on-scene units with packing hose and placing tools back on the proper units. After these tasks were completed, Showell units were placed back in service and cleared the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
