Showell Volunteer Fire Department

At approximately 1802 hours, Showell was alerted to respond to a fully involved barn fire. In addition to Showell; Berlin, Ocean Pines, and Bishopville were alerted to respond upon first dispatch. Upon arrival on scene, command soon requested 2 tankers respond from Ocean City. As the firefighters were working on extinguishing the fire, Command alerted Wicomico Station 8 to respond to Station 800 with a tanker for standby. Central soon dispatched Newark to repsond to station 600 for a standby. Willards Fire department responded to the scene as well as Newark Tanker 5 to assist with feeding water. As attempts to extinguish the flames from the ground were found inefficient, Berlin used their truck to douse the fire from above. Stations involved in the incident, Showell, Berlin, Ocean Pines, Bishopville, Newark, Ocean City, Selbyville, Willards, and Powellville Fire Department. At 2114 hours, all units were back in station.
