Showell Volunteer Fire Department

At approximately 0706 hours, Ocean Pines along with Berlin and Showell Fire Departments were alerted to respond to a Commercial Structure Fire off of Ocean Parkway. Engine 1102 arrived first on scene to report a pumphouse with smoke showing. Crews entered the structure to find a pump motor that had overheated and had flames showing. With extinguishers in hand, firefighters extinguished the flames with the assistance of neighboring departments. After the fire was extinguished Public Works and the Fire Marshal ere called to investigate the situation. Units on scene were Engines 1102, 804, 803, 608, Tower 11, Rescue Engine 11, and Ladder 6.
