Control Burn With Berlin and Ocean City Fire Departments - Atkins Rd. Berlin, MD

At approximately 1830 hours members from Showell left the station in Engine 803 and Tanker 805 in route to a control burn hosted by Berlin Fire Deparment. Berlin was asked to burn several chicken houses, and with the help of neighboring departments Showell and Ocean City this was possible. Several lines were placed on various points of the chicken houses to keep exposures from catching fire. Cadets were given lectures on how fire spreads throughout a wood frame structure and were also given chances to work a hoseline on the western side of the burn. Showell Fire Department thanks Berlin Fire Department for allowing us to participate in this event!
